About Xorakus
Xorakus is the first board game developed by the indy Seattle startup, Positive Space Games. Its founder Martin Cline has been developing, illustrating, and creating Xorakus for the past three years. With over 150 illustrations, he’s created an expansive world for players to explore.
Martin has spent his career in the fields of art and design. He received his master's in architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and his bachelor's in interdisciplinary art from the University of Washington. He’s been drawing and playing board games since he was a kid.
The idea for Xorakus began as a conversation between brothers. Martin and his brother Roger began brainstorming concepts and reconnecting over a shared love of board games. Martin began designing and prototyping and Roger was the sounding board.
In early 2019, Martin began working on Xorakus full-time, spending most of his days illustrating. For more than a year, he's been play testing and tweaking the game on repeat. On top of that, he's been emailing with manufacturers about production and attempting to build a following. It's safe to say that the project has been a lot more work than Martin expected, but Xorakus is finally ready for release!
